Wow, I can hardly believe I’m writing this review! As a big fan of TLC’s programming, especially 90 Day Fiancé, I was excited to check out I Love a Mama’s Boy. This new show fits perfectly between 90 Day Fiancé and 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk, taking the coveted time slot previously occupied by shows like sMOTHERED and Unexpected. While those shows were a bit unconventional and sometimes unhealthy, but in comparison to I Love a Mama’s Boy, it’s a walk in the park.
The show’s backstories are quite somber. Despite this, it appears that the mothers are still exhibiting childish behavior, and they fail to recognize the need for therapy to cope with their difficulties. Furthermore, the way these men treat their significant others is notably aloof in contrast to the reverence they have for their mothers. The discomfort this all brings me may lead me to change the channel until my next show comes on.
WHEW, BABY, I empathize with the women in these relationships and I truly hope that both the mothers and sons receive the therapy and love that they need. The show had me on edge and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It’s really something.
Have you seen this yet? It’s quite dramatic, and that’s saying something coming from me. The idea of someone so obviously prioritizing someone other than their partner makes me feel uneasy. It’s not something I’m ready for, haha. What are your thoughts on it?
