Bridgerton Season 4 Thoughts: Cozy Romance, Cinderella Vibes & Tea‑Time Feelings

I absolutely love Bridgerton. I’m honestly a little giddy even writing this — which feels very on brand for a show full of romance, swoony glances, orchestral pop covers, especially when I’m watching with a warm cup of tea in hand.

I’ve already finished part one of the new season, and I am impatiently waiting for part two. Like… counting‑the‑days impatient.

Growing up, Cinderella was my forever favorite princess, so seeing Bridgerton give us its own dreamy Regency version of that story has me completely hooked. There’s just something about a good Cinderella‑style romance — the glow‑up, the hope, the quiet ache of being truly seen — that never gets old for me. And this season? It’s fulfilling all of that and then some.

I was late to the Bridgerton party originally, but once I finally started watching, I was instantly pulled in. Season one will probably always have a special place in my heart (the drama!), but this new season is quickly creeping up behind it.

Of course, I know not everyone is feeling the same way. Some fans are upset about changes from the books, others miss Anthony and Kate, and a lot of people didn’t love the slower pacing of part one. And the two‑part release definitely isn’t helping — waiting is its own little torture.

There was also one moment I personally could’ve done without — Sophie alone in bed. For me, certain things can just be implied rather than shown. I sometimes feel like heavy moments or adult themes get added purely for impact when they might be just as powerful handled more softly. But that’s a me preference, not a critique of the show as a whole.

But honestly? This season works for me. Loudly. Enthusiastically. Tea‑and‑cupcake‑in‑hand levels of joy.

A huge part of that is Benedict and Sophie. Their chemistry feels emotional and warm rather than sharp and flashy, and that Cinderella‑retelling energy is pure magic. The stair scene? I may have squeaked. Out loud.

I also love how the season expands beyond the ballrooms. Seeing more of the staff, the behind‑the‑scenes lives, and the quieter corners of the Bridgerton world makes everything feel richer — and a bit cozier, too.

Light Spoilers Ahead for Season 4, Part 1

(Nothing major, but skip this section if you’re still watching!)

The Queen’s choice for her “diamond” had me hooked, and seeing Benedict start to shine more this season has been such a treat… even if he also makes me want to yell into a pillow. When he asked Sophie, “Will you be my mistress?” I fully recoiled. Benedict, sweetheart. Please. No.

But I’m crossing my fingers that this is all part of his growth arc. We’ll find out soon enough — and waiting for part two is driving me slightly mad.

This season also reminded me of a custom locket I once made for my Etsy shop, Cupcake Custom Lockets — a little Penelope‑and‑Colin piece that made me smile like an absolute fool when I finished it. There’s something magical about turning a favorite story into something someone can wear and keep close to their heart.

🔮 My Predictions for Part Two (Mild Speculation, No Book Spoilers)

Because I cannot just sit here sipping tea and not theorize, here are a few of my biggest predictions — the ones living rent‑free in my brain while I wait (not patiently!) for part two:

✨ Sophie’s Secret Might Be Bigger Than We Think
I have a feeling Sophie is going to be written into her father’s will — not just as an afterthought, but as someone he purposely tried to protect. I keep circling back to her mother, too. I think she may have had access to higher society, even if she wasn’t accepted by it… or someone close enough to the aristocracy that her relationship with Sophie’s father had to be kept quiet.

If she was higher class, that raises the big question: why didn’t they marry? Which makes me think: something prevented it. Reputation? Family pressure? A scandal? My tea and I are spiraling.

    ✨ A Character Death… and I’m Not Ready
I am dramatically concerned because we’ve seen Violet wearing black in trailers/photos. That typically means mourning, and I am not emotionally prepared for whoever this might be. Not even a little.

✨ Benedict Is Headed for His Wake‑Up Moment
Between the “will you be my mistress?” disaster and his soft, yearning moments with Sophie, I think part two is going to give him an emotional reckoning. Growth arc incoming!

Basically, I’m expecting part two to make me cry, squeak, clutch my tea, and text my friends in all caps. And I cannot wait.

📻 Something Cozy to Enjoy While We Wait for Part Two

If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend The Bridgerton Podcast.
It’s like sitting in a cozy group chat with fellow fans — behind‑the‑scenes tidbits, cast insights, thoughtful commentary… basically the warm‑beverage version of content.

It has absolutely made the wait more bearable for me.

    🍰 Tea & Treat Pairing

I’ve been enjoying the Duchess of Sussex’s hibiscus tea with a little honey and McVitie’s tea biscuits. A close second is lemon echinacea tea with honey, cream, and sugar. But honestly, I can never go wrong with a strong Irish breakfast tea with cream and sugar — simple and perfect.

    ☕🧁 Final Thoughts

Bridgerton reminds me why I adore romance stories — the drama, the softness, the character growth, and the little reminders that people are capable of change. It’s the perfect pairing with tea and a sweet treat.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be rewatching my favorite scenes, sipping something warm, and absolutely not patiently counting down the days until part two.

Tell me in the comments — are you swooning? annoyed? counting the days with me? I love hearing what you’re loving (or side‑eyeing) this season!
