If there’s one thing that can make my inner child squeal with joy, it’s stepping straight into the wizarding world — and that’s exactly what happened when I finally visited the Harry Potter Store in New York City! Located right near the iconic Flatiron Building at 935 Broadway, this three-story wonderland is every Potterhead’s dream come true. From Butterbeer on tap to chocolate frogs, wands, and house scarves galore, the magic starts the moment you walk through those enchanted doors.
Now, you might be wondering — is it really worth all the buzz?
Oh, my fellow witches and wizards, the answer is a resounding YES! 🪄
The store has a check-in system, which can mean a bit of a wait, but don’t let that deter you. My friend and I used the time to wander through Central Park (a perfect prelude to a magical afternoon), and before we knew it, it was our turn to enter. The moment we stepped inside, I felt like I’d just walked through Platform 9¾. The attention to detail is incredible — from floating candles and house banners to interactive displays that make you feel like you’ve just gotten your Hogwarts letter.
The basement was hands-down my favorite spot. A massive serpent snakes its way across the ceiling (hello, Chamber of Secrets vibes!), and there are movie props tucked into every corner that’ll make any Potter fan’s heart skip a beat. They even have virtual reality experiences where you can fly through London or battle dark wizards — it’s on my list for next time!
And can we talk about the Butterbeer bar? Frothy, sweet, and nostalgic — it’s every bit as delicious as you’d hope. Pair it with one of their themed cookies, and you’ll basically be in honeydukes heaven. 🍺🍪
By the end of my visit, my camera roll was full, my heart was happy, and my wallet was… well, a little lighter (how does one say no to a Slytherin scarf and a chocolate frog?).
If you’re planning a trip to New York City, do yourself a favor and add the Harry Potter Store to your must-visit list. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or just in it for the Butterbeer, it’s a truly magical experience that captures the wonder of the wizarding world.
