I finally made it to the highly anticipated Harry Potter store in New York City. Located at 935 Broadway near the Flatiron Building. This three-story megastore opened on June 3, 2021, and it is the most magical place! Butterbeer, cookies, chocolate frogs, what more could you need?

So, is it worth the hype? YES! If you’re looking to try some butterbeer, participate in magical photo ops, and do some spell casting, this is for you. Make sure to plan! My friend and I felt so lucky that we got in line! Currently, they have a check-in system, where there is a virtual line queue. You have an hour to return to the store once you’re called up, but this can mean you’ll need to have a few activities planned to pass the time during the wait. We had enough time to do a quick biking tour in Central Park and return.

You will find authentic props from the movies throughout the store, which is so fun, and you’ll find exclusive items for purchase. My favorite thing was in the basement, where you’ll find a ginormous snake protruding from the ceiling. The next time I visit NYC, I will try to participate in the virtual reality options.
